The five medical research institutions participating in the Texas Alzheimer's Research Consortium are currently recruiting persons age 50 or older with probable Alzheimer's disease to participate in TARC research studies into Alzheimer's onset and progression. The TARC also is recruiting adults with healthy cognition to serve as a research "control" group.
All TARC research participants will receive a free standard physical exam as well as free comprehensive clinical, neurological and neuro-psychological evaluation at one of the following five Consortium research sites listed below. Blood will be drawn for genetic, biomarker and laboratory analysis and to bank for use in addressing future research questions. A complete follow-up examination will be conducted annually for all research subjects. Research participants will receive an annual $100 stipend to cover any costs.
